GYTABIA worked with the borough council’s Tourism Department to run some great new marketing campaigns in 2015.
In Spring we worked with VisitEngland to promote Great Yarmouth as a seaside resort targeting families, with an online campaign and a national radio campaign on Global radio.
We’ve been working with VisitEngland all year on their #RealTimeTravelGuide, a website which gathers our tweets and broadcasts them to people looking for certain types of holiday.
From Easter to the end of August we sponsored the weather on Heart radio in Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, with Greater Yarmouth mentioned as part of the weather update and on the website, changing our tag lines every few weeks to communicate as much as we can about the area.
In two week bursts, from May to the middle of June, we promoted Greater Yarmouth on Sky TV in Essex and North London to hit the 2-3 hour drive time market for staying visitors. In June and July we also advertised on Sky TV in Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Peterborough to hit the slightly nearer 1.5-2 hour drive time markets, targets for staying and day trips. SkySmart technology meant we could closely target our adverts to the decision makers who will lead the way in booking holidays and day trips.
Norfolk company, Ember Films, who won our contract for film production were out and about filming all sorts of new footage to produce a new TV advert and also several 70 second web films to be used on our website and on social media. The films will be premièred at the 2016 Season launch in December.
We ran a social media blogging campaign in September and October in the run up to half term, targeted at mums who blogged about their holiday experiences and offered one lucky winner the chance to win an amazing holiday for up to 8 people staying at Haven Seashore.
We also ran a fun new event, Pumpkinanza in October half term where anyone could enter their carved pumpkin into our pumpkin carving competition.
