Bigger and better fireworks promised in Great Yarmouth

There’s just two weeks left to enjoy a spectacle of light and sound on one of Norfolk’s iconic beachfronts.
Big Wednesday Summer Fireworks returns to Great Yarmouth for just this Wednesday and next, with each display enhanced for an even bigger and brighter show.

This week, the fireworks will be launched from the beach, east of Pleasure Beach Gardens at 10pm, with entertainment provided by high-impact performance group Spark! who combine vibrant illuminations with thundering drums.

The first performance will be just after 7pm and the second at 9pm, with the acts situated around the central seafront location.
Hemsby’s final fireworks evening will take place next Tuesday on August 27, at the beach near the end of Beach Road.
The street acts appearing in Great Yarmouth will also appear at Hemsby.

Lyndon Bevan, Chair of Visit Great Yarmouth, which funds and organises the displays, said they were pleased to have drawn in large crowds for the free events. “The fireworks are a staple part of the summer calendar and this year we have attracted huge crowds.
“The weather has been largely on our side, and it’s been lovely to see so many families really enjoying all we have to offer on the seafront.”
The events are funded by Greater Yarmouth Tourism and Business Improvement Area (GYTABIA) trading as Visit Great Yarmouth.
Visit Great Yarmouth is encouraging businesses to stay open late on the display dates to welcome customers and help build the evening atmosphere on the seafront.

Asa Morrison, Chief Executive of Visit Great Yarmouth, said the fireworks had attracted day trippers, locals and holidaymakers at both locations.
“We have been really pleased to see so many people out and about in Great Yarmouth and Hemsby. The fireworks are an eagerly awaited event for the summer as it’s an evening of completely free entertainment, and with the weather being so kind it’s been a positive and well-attended event.
“We have invested more funding into the last two weeks of displays at Great Yarmouth so people that come to watch this week and next are in for a real treat.”
Times and locations may be impacted by the weather.
