Monster headline acts revealed for Great Yarmouth’s Wheels Festival 2026

  • Monster truck duo, dare devil world-class motocross team and BMX stunt team to headline Visit Great Yarmouth’s summer Wheels Festival 2026.
  • Two days of non-stop action is promised at the free two-day event which drew nearly 70,000 people to the seafront last year.
  • This year, the 1.5km of cars, trucks and motorcycles – from lovingly-restored classics to souped up novelty vehicles, American cars, and emergency vehicles – will line up in four new themed zones.
  • Wheels Festival brings a welcome spending spike for seafront businesses with a ‘ripple effect’ economic boost for Great Yarmouth. Last year’s event generated £57 for the local economy for every £1 invested.

World leading motocross stunt riders, monster truck racing giants and BMX Stunt riders are among Visit Great Yarmouth’s Wheels Festival top billers for the June extravaganza.

A new signing for 2026 for the free and fun mega extravaganza celebrating all-things wheels is the UK’s biggest monster truck, Big Pete, with racing rival team mate The Grim Reaper.

Big Pete stands 16ft tall and 12 ft wide weighing 7.5 tonnes and can jump off the ground. With its smaller buddy, the mighty stars will bring their trail of destruction to the seafront on June 20 and 21.

Big Pete is the only monster truck in the world with a driver who commentates throughout the show as it rips cars in half and crushes them to gasps across the crowds.

Visit Great Yarmouth has signed another full throttle line-up for this year’s event with the return of crowd favourite Bolddog FMX, the UK’s number one freestyle motocross stunt team. They wowed audiences last year with their jaw-dropping airborne twists, turns and tricks on the world’s first mobile landing system.

Leader Dan Whitby – who debuted his 100 per cent electric motocross bike at the last Wheels Festival – delivers on-board commentary throughout the daredevil show that sees the Norfolk-based riders taking their hands off their handlebars while flying, twisting and flipping through the air and out of their seats in seemingly impossible feats of skill and courage.

BMX wizards the BMXtras will add a new dimension to their show this year with ‘have a go’ BMX workshops though the weekend, inviting people to try out the sport.

The professional BMX and scooter stunt team have some of the UK’s top riders and were a hit with the Great Yarmouth crowds last year.

Asa Morrison, Chief Executive of Visit Great Yarmouth, said:

“These acts are world class and perform across the world. They will bring first class entertainment throughout two days on the seafront. Last year, more than 68,500 people revelled in the spectacle.

“Beside the thrills and spills of the acts, our visitors say they enjoy chatting to the owners of the different vehicles that are so lovingly cared for, have been painstakingly restored and are real labours of love for the people who proudly bring them to be part of our festival.

“So, this year, to make it easier for people to plan and navigate, we will organise the different types of vehicles in four distinct zones.

“Behind these busy two days, is the economic boost such events bring to our seafront traders with boosted footfall and spend in a concentrated area, which also has a ripple effect on hospitality and traders way from the seafront.”

Visit Great Yarmouth chair Nathan Race said: “ “The Wheels Festival is a highlight of the year as a wonderful event for all the family and has become a must not miss event that puts Great Yarmouth on the map and attracts more people to our seafront and wider destination every year.

“It both entertains and supports our local economy, bringing a fantastic atmosphere. We can’t wait!”

The tourism and visitor industry brings hundreds of millions into the local economy – £698m according to the last survey for 2024 value.

Prizes for Best in Show and other awards are presented on both days to owners of vehicles displayed.

Last year’s Saturday winner was Ken Lane, who restored his showstopper Venetian Red 1974 Ford Escort in the garage of his home at Braintree in Essex. He said his win exhibiting for the first time in Great Yarmouth was extra special because he had visited Great Yarmouth on holiday nearly every one of his 60 years.

“I used to come to Great Yarmouth when I was a child and I carried on bringing my family and we’ve been coming to Seashore for 30 years, so winning at Great Yarmouth is special.”

Sunday’s winner was a 41-year-old white VW Golf GTI preserved in its original condition by Ivan Folkes, of Bradwell, who bought it 34 years before.
