A scarily good half term planned in Great Yarmout
Get ready for some spooky goings-on across in and around Great Yarmouth this half term with an array of activities available for all the family.
The Big Wednesday Fireworks are back for one night only on Wednesday, October 30, with a free seafront twin firework display at 6pm, firing from two different locations on central beach at the same time.
Street performances take place from 5pm with breath taking fiery displays from Juggling Inferno and the unusual and illuminated walking act The Lumens.
They will also return after the fireworks have finished.
Prepared to have a frighteningly good time at The Hippodrome Theatre’s Halloween Spooktacular.
Jack Jay and Johnny Mac are back for the family adventure show, with acts flying in from death defying heights to others blowing fire.
It begins on Thursday, October 24 and runs through until November 3, with fancy dress costumes encouraged.
Fairground Frights is back at The Pleasure Beach in Great Yarmouth from Saturday, October 26 onwards, so roll right up, if you dare!
From characters creeping around to five Halloween themed attractions, including the Not So Fun Factory and The Haunted Hotel, there’s plenty to keep visitors entertained.
Younger children can enjoy a trip on the snails at Joyland all half term week, as well as some special open evenings with its Halloween Spooky Snail Trail.
A trick or treat trail, spooky characters and unlimited rides are just some of the activities available.
Its open from 6pm-8pm on Saturday, October 26, Monday, October 28 and Halloween, with each night ending with a marquee stage show and disco, as well as a car display in Anchor Gardens.
Yarmouth Stadium is holding a Gala Night with stock car, banger racing and a firework display on Saturday, November 2. Gates open at 3.45pm with the car park open from 3pm. No advance booking is needed.
While Merrivale Miniature Model Village will be decorated in miniature Halloween decorations, with a scavenger hunt, crazy golf and prizes to be won. The retro arcade will be open with games from the 80s and 90s, family amusements and the old penny museum.
There’s also a special Halloween illumination evening taking place on Wednesday, October 30.
Hirsty’s Family Fun Park is open all week for children to go and pick a pumpkin and enjoy the craft area to create a scary design.
Families can also enjoy the play area, a quiz around the maize maze and face painting. The café will be open serving food and drinks.
For animal fans, The Sealife Centre on Great Yarmouth’s Golden Mile and Thrigby Wildlife Gardens will be open daily, or wrap up and enjoy an autumnal beach walk in Gorleston, Scratby or Winterton, where you might even spot a seal.
