Great Yarmouth set for a Christmas cracker
Christmas in and around Great Yarmouth is looking merry and bright with attractions and activities available in abundance.
The Hippodrome Christmas Spectacular is back with a bang starring Jack Jay, Ben Langley and an international circus cast.
As one of the biggest festival productions in Europe, it combines the spirit of Christmas with the magic of the circus.
Expect the most spectacular display yet with more than 60 world-class performers and the addition of The Man They Call G, who will be bringing his unique blend of impressions, singing and acting to the line-up.
Sealife Great Yarmouth is looking for participants in its special arctic Christmas adventure to learn about the North Pole and the animals that live there.
Snowy’s Conservation Crew will see families take part in an interactive trail through the aquarium while meeting all the centre’s jaw-some creatures.
There will be challenges along the way, festive photo opportunities and a prize on offer for taking part in the trail.
If theatre is your thing head over to St George’s Theatre to look into the magical mirror to see the fairest panto of all in Snow White.
It’s on stage from Friday, 13th December until New Year’s Eve. Over in Gorleston, the search is on for the owner of a golden slipper as The Pavilion Theatre presents Cinderella. It’s on now until January 4th.
The Arc Cinema is a cosy place to enjoy a winter film. With family favourites on offer such as Moana 2, Wicked and Paddington Three, grab some popcorn and get booking.
If you love a winter day out look no further than Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens.
It’s open from 10am-5pm daily and has attractions for all age groups including snow leopards, rare tigers, gibbons, deer otters, crocodiles in a swamp house, aviaries, waterfowl, a gift shop and café.
There’s also a range of winter beach walks to try, including Winterton, where you also might spot a seal.
Don’t forget about accommodation too, there’s a wide range available over the festive period for Christmas breaks, including Haven Seashore and Parkdean Resorts Cherry Tree.
Looking ahead to New Year’s Eve, The Britannia Pier will present a party that shouldn’t be missed.
Suitable for over 18s only, it will include a live ABBA tribute act, top DJs, confetti cannons and a midnight balloon drop. Tickets are £10 per person and can be booked via the website.
On New Year’s Day there will be everything from live music to illuminated stilt walkers for the whole family to enjoy at the Britannia Pier, with fireworks illuminating the skies at 5pm.
There’s also a party planned at The Empire. There will be live music from Alternative Jukebox, karaoke, party music and a confetti countdown. Early bird tickets start at £6.
