Weekly fireworks back this summer
Weekly fireworks will return to Great Yarmouth and Hemsby this summer.
Big Tuesdays and Big Wednesdays will be back in July and August lighting up the sky over the sea with dazzling pyrotechnics attracting crowds to the Great Yarmouth seafront and Hemsby beach.
Organised and funded by Visit Great Yarmouth, the free events start on July 21 at Hemsby with the first Big Wednesday at Great Yarmouth on July 22.
About 5000 people spend the Wednesday evenings on the seafront for the six summer displays to watch the sky turn into a blaze of colour by displays that start at 10pm.
Independent research using key tourism data revealed that the Big Tuesdays and Big Wednesdays generate more than £3million to the economy, sustaining 45 full time

equivalent jobs.
Of the £3,313,000 injection, £2,925,000 was spent in the local economy with £388,000 outside.
For every £1 spent on the displays, £22 was generated for the local economy.
The economic impact was undertaken by Destination Research, who analysed spending by day visitors and holidaymakers in seafront and local businesses, shops, cafes, bars, attractions, accommodation and transport on Big Wednesdays and Tuesdays in 2024.
Nathan Race, chair of Visit Great Yarmouth, said: “Our weekly free to attend Big Wednesdays and Big Tuesdays have become highlights of the annual calendar. People look forward to them and plan their visits around the dates, travelling from far and wide to make sure they don’t miss them.
“Families make an evening of it – and sometimes all day staying late into the evening – at both locations, drawing people to the seafront and back from far and wide.”

Asa Morrison, Visit Great Yarmouth Chief Executive, said: “We are busy planning spectacular displays for summer 2026. More details will be announced in coming weeks. The evenings of completely free entertainment always see both venues packed, enjoying all that Great Yarmouth seafront and Hemsby has to offer, which is good for all our businesses.
Firework displays at 10pm at Hemsby will take place on July 21, 28, August 4, 11, 18 and 25.
Great Yarmouth displays will be at 10pm on July 22, 29, August 5,12, 19, 26.
