Wheels Festival “awesome” line-up for 2024

  • Iconic Wall of Death and international stunt team to headline two-day Wheels Festival in Great Yarmouth

  • Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Titan the Robot will arrive on his cart to join the line-up for celebration of all things with wheels.

  • More than 500 cars have already booked and motorbikes are welcome to attend.

Great Yarmouth seafront will transform into a celebration of everything wheels next month in a two-day extravaganza of cars, heart-stopping stunts, superbikes and classic cars.

Returning to headline the hugely popular Wheels Festival are the Ken Fox Hell Riders and their gasp-inducing Wall of Death and the Stannage International Stunt Team to wow the crowds.

New for 2024 brings comedy gold Titan the Robot. The 8ft tall Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist will arrive on its vehicle to deliver the ultimate family show that has entertained children and adults in more than 50 countries.

Continuing the traditional theme of mixing new and old, state-of-the-art Tesla electric cars will be offering drive outs while Roger Blighty, a whacky bike-plane pilot whizzes up and down the seafront on his bicycle with bi-plane wings.

Emergency vehicles, superbikes, classic cars, and old military vehicles are all on the programme for the eighth Great Yarmouth Wheels Festival on Saturday June 29 and Sunday June 30.

More than 500 cars are expected to line up along the seafront for a mega 2.5km vehicle display, which organisers hope will match the 50,000 locals, daytrippers and holidaymakers who flocked to the Golden Mile event last year.

Organised for the first time this year by Visit Great Yarmouth, the Ken Fox Hell Riders who race around the 20ft high vertical wall of death on vintage Indian Scout motorcycles are back by popular demand with a show that has wowed the public for 100 years.

The noise, speed, smell and closeness of the bikes – ridden all the way to the very top of the wall within inches of the audience – draws in the crowds.

Guinness world record holders Stannage International Stunt Team will be performing two shows a day. The team is a true family affair and has performed worldwide since 2000 with fire and high fall stunts.

Also on the programme is a Formula One car simulator and an historic working aeroplane  engine will also be on display complete with its propellers.

Asa Morrison, CEO of Visit Great Yarmouth, said: “We have worked to deliver an incredible selection of acts for everyone to enjoy in two days of great family fun and spectacle to remember. There’s the wow-factor, the comedy, the nostalgia, the whacky and the unusual vehicles everyone enjoys. It will be awesome.”

Lyndon Bevan, chair of Visit Great Yarmouth, said: “We are so excited about this year’s programme and how it will draw people from far and wide to enjoy what Great Yarmouth seafront has to offer. The Wheels Festival is such a team effort to organise a major attraction in the heart of our destination and one that all our traders and members can benefit from.”

Like previous years, the  event will be supporting East Anglian Air Ambulance charity. Admission to the event is free.
